Wendy Thomson Melling – Founder

My Three Cats was founded in 2017 by Wendy Thomson Melling, a self-confessed cat addict who combined her background in finance with her lifelong love of felines to create the purr-fect business.

Having lived with cats since birth, Wendy’s addiction to felines was a permanent obsession with no chance of recovery! As a teenager, she volunteered with the Cats Protection in Warrington and soon adopted her first cats, Clarence and Alabama. Back then, holiday plans always came with a side order of guilt - despite excellent cattery care, her cats would return home stressed, sulky, and suspiciously skinny.

She soon ditched the cattery in favour of family-based cat-sitting but knew there had to be a better way.

What started as a bit of extra pocket money quickly turned into something much bigger. Clients said how much calmer and happier their cats were when cared for at home, and before she knew it, word had spread like catnip at a kitten party! Demand skyrocketed, and by 2019, Wendy had assembled a small team of fellow cat fanatics to help her keep up.

Fast forward to today, and My Three Cats is a trusted, five-star service with a dedicated team of 16, all sharing Wendy’s passion for feline well-being. The business continues to grow and expand, helping cat owners across Warrington keep their furry friends happy at home.

The name “My Three Cats” was inspired by owner Wendy’s trio of beloved felines—Coco, Belle, and Ronnie. They were the heart of her home and the reason she knew first-hand how important it is for cats to stay in their familiar surroundings. Not long after, Belle decided she had other plans—falling out with Ronnie and choosing to relocate herself to a neighbour down the road!

With Belle happily settled in her new home, Baby Billie soon joined the family, becoming the next generation of My Three Cats. Though the lineup changed, the name remained, honouring the cats who started it all. Since then two more cats - Reggie and Mavis have joined and left the family, bringing joy, heartache and everything in between to their human carers.
